Our Little *SECRET* Up On the Hill

~Where we'll walk every step of *forever*, together.

To His Glory.

lørdag 23. januar 2010

A couple of feet off the ground, in a school playground at 6.30 in the morning...

In THIS climbing pyramide,THIS wonderful man asked me to marry him, and I said yes.And he held my hand for the first time,
and slipped a golden wedding band onto my right ring finger,

It's been there ever since...

There's of course more to the story than this, but you'll get the rest later...
Blessed be the LORD God,
the God of Israel,
who only doeth

Thank you all of you!!

I wrote it the day we got engaged, Ijust didn't post it until now, for various reasons. We're not married yet. I don't know when we'll be, praying that it's going to be fairly soon. I'm waiting for a visa to go through... =)

Oh my. I have been following your blog on and off for a while now, and today I just popped in and saw that you are going to be married to this wonderful young man whom I, of course, recognized from another blog I have been following for a long time. How very, very lovely. Many blessings!

Oh, how exciting! I have been following your blog after Jewels left a link to it in hers. I do so miss her sweet spirit in her blog. Congratulations to you and your handsome James. May God richly bless you both. Will be praying for your visa problem. Much love - Raquel XO

Rose sa...

Dear åslaug, How exciting that you will be sewing the Wedding dress with your sister-in-law!!! I am praying for you everyday that you get your visa! God bless you, Rose

Mrs.Rabe sa...

So happy Aslaug! I will pray too for your Visa - it is so hard to wait when you are in love and ready to marry!

I was listening to the news and heard about the big volcano eruption - is this affecting your family in anyway? The air must be filled with ash - when Mount Saint Helen's erupted many years ago, we had ash falling at our home several states away!

åslaug abigail sa...

Thank you so so much, everybody who's praying! We recently set the date to July 10. Though, nobody knows yet whether or not the bride will be there =) =) sounds dramatic, but it's very much the truth =)

Mrs. Rabe:
We're okay. The eruption was in Iceland, and even if that big ash cloud have been on it's way to and over Norway, all it meant to us was that all flights stopped, and so we didn't get any national mail (because mail gets here by plane too). I haven't seen any ash, but it did smell like sulfur outside earlier today =)

Thanks again, everybody!

Mrs. Anna T sa...

Aslaug, I just wanted to pop in with another little note of encouragement, because I *kind of* understand what you are going through. Before my husband and I got married, I had to prove at the rabbinical court that I'm actually Jewish (World War 2, family documents got lost, family scattered around the world and assimilated... long story). Anyway, we had the date set, but at the same time were anxiously waiting for the court's approval. Things do move slowly in official institutions. Eventually we made it just in the nick of time.

It was a time of much uncertainty, and I found that what really helped was to pray for wisdom for the men who were going to evaluate me. Surely they just wanted to do what's right, and I asked God to give them the clarity of vision to do justice to my case.

We have been married over two years now and all this seems like a distant memory, yet back then, when I was a bride, I didn't know if I could survive a delay of our plans of a new life together. Fortunately it all worked out just wonderfully in the end.

MamaF sa...

Oh 10 july ... I got married on 11 july :) but 12 years ago ! Time sure flies, I will keep you in my prayers, for you visa, for your wedding ... What an exciting and blessed season you're living !

Mrs.Rabe sa...

Glad to hear you are doing well! July 10th! Wonderful - it is always good to plan and then be open to the Lord's leading!

We will pray that He will provide a visa in plenty of time and that you will know His peace!
